Why do my access tokens expire?
Social media accounts can sometimes go offline. If your access token is no longer valid, you may have problems posting scheduled content, managing comments, and even losing data in reports 😕
We understand that this can be annoying. Nevertheless, it’s a common security precaution put in place to protect your accounts from intrusions 👍
How do I know if my tokens have expired?
If you see an orange “!” icon next to your account profile in our SocialDock. This means that you need to refresh your connection to renew your tokens so that the synchronization between Dailyfy and the platform is optimal.

If you have received a message in your notification manager telling you that your account is disconnected, then you will have to update your tockens.
If you receive an email from an erroneous post indicating that the tockens have expired then you will also have to make an update.
If in the configuration of your Dailyspace, you see an orange “!” icon to the left of the synchronization icon then it means that you need to reconnect your account.
What are the reasons for an expiration?
There are several reasons why your access tokens may expire:
- When the person who connected your pages to Dailyfy updates their credentials, social media platforms revoke their access tokens to allow them to review their connected apps.
- The person who connected social media accounts to the Dailyfy platform may no longer be an administrator of those accounts. Thus, your profile does not have access to the management of the page.
- Social media platforms periodically disable access tokens due to routine security checks. This allows you to know if you have not forgotten the applications to which you have opened access.
How do I reconnect an access token?
Social media platforms and their policies can be the cause
Note that, regardless of the reasons and the social network, every time your access token expires, you must reconnect your account to Dailyfy.

Why do access tokens expire?
Facebook and Instagram
Your Instagram and Facebook accounts, connected to Dailyfy, need more attention from you. According to Facebook, an access token usually remains valid for about 60 days. However, the exact duration of an access token is ambiguously defined, and no specific time frame is provided.
In addition to the general reasons listed above, here are some reasons why the access token might expire.
- You publish identical messages on several accounts at the same time. Facebook detects many different IP addresses that connect to your account. The more people know your email address and password, the more they distrust the Facebook system.
- You often log in and out of several different accounts.

The LinkedIn access token requires a reconnection exactly every 60 days.
“LinkedIn offers programmatic refresh tokens that are valid for a set amount of time. By default, access tokens are valid for 60 days, and programmatic refresh tokens are valid for one year. The member must reauthorize your app when the refresh tokens expire. »
In addition to the regular and scheduled expiration of access tokens, there are additional reasons why you may need to reconnect your LinkedIn profile:
- You post identical messages on several LinkedIn accounts at the same time. (Social media platforms classify this behavior as spam.)
- You no longer have admin access to the LinkedIn page.
