Why didn’t my Instagram collab work?
If your Instagram account is properly connected to Dailyfy and you tried to add an Instagram collaboration without success, several reasons may explain the issue.
1. The invited profile is invalid
Because of Instagram API limitations, Dailyfy can’t search profiles through the official tool. We therefore use an alternative method, which may sometimes fail to identify accounts correctly.
👉 The most reliable method:
Copy the Instagram profile URL and paste it directly into the search field when creating your collab on Dailyfy (just like mentions).
Make sure you also have permission to collaborate with that profile (some accounts don’t accept collabs or restrict collaboration requests).
2. The invited profile does not allow Instagram collaborations
Some accounts disable the ability to be added as collaborators.
When you publish through Dailyfy, we automatically check with Instagram whether the invited profile allows collaborations or not.
👉 If the account doesn’t allow collabs:
Dailyfy will publish your post without the collaboration.
You will receive an error notification on your post and in your Dailyfy notification center.
👉 You can still add the collaboration manually
From your Instagram app:
- Open your post.
- Tap Edit.
- Select Add collaborator.
- Search for the profile.
If the name appears greyed out, it confirms that the profile does not accept collaborations.
3. The profile has not accepted the collaboration
Even if the collaboration was successfully sent, it must be accepted by the invited account for it to appear on your post.
👉 As long as the collab hasn’t been accepted:
- your post remains a regular post,
- the collaboration does not appear on the invited profile,
- and you will see a message under your post:
“X has received an invitation to collaborate but has not accepted it yet.”
Once the person accepts the collaboration, it will automatically appear on both accounts.
